Uncomfortable Application…

For many at Main Street this is Day 3 in the 40 Days in the Word experience.  Others are just beginning, some have yet to commence.  I am so pleased the excitement is building and some of the response I have heard thrills my heart.  God’s people are finding His Word again, ancient and still eerily relevant.

The verse for Day 3 in the Pronounce it method:

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2.13, NIV

My application:

I am so busy with work, I neglect the truth that the work is not my own, but God in me.  I also must remember that it is His work in others and not my own.

Oddly enough, I was anxious to share God’s message to me for yesterday’s verse…but was too busy to write.  That frustrated me immensely since writing is one activity I enjoy doing.

What kind of things to you enjoy but don’t do because of the obstacle of  “work” or “busyness”?

I had prayed earlier in the week for God to help me have the power and desire to carry out Philippians 1:27. What a joy then that my prayer was answered in Philippians 2:13! It’s terrific to know that I can act from a place of an abundant confidence in God’s work within me rather than a shaky confidence in my own wobbly strength.

Not sure how to answer your question without more reflection, but I wanted to share this cool example of God speaking from His Word. Rock on, 40 Days, rock on.

I have gone through the 40 Days in the Word already and doing it again following day to day with my fellow Main Street family…it has given me such a desire to memorize and keep everyday the passage and experiencing a deep wisdom of how our desire for God immensifies because He is the One that put it there to begin with
